FTMG: Cothrom ann an Ullapul

21mh Faoilleach 2008

Tha Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG), buidheann leasachaidh na Gàidhlig, a’ cur an gnìomh iomairt ioma-thaobh ionadail gus Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig a neartachadh ann an Ullapul. Tha an iomairt ag amas air fiosrachadh a thoirt do phàrantan ùra mu na cothroman co-cheangailte ri Gàidhlig ’s foghlam sa sgìre.

Mar phàirt den iomairt, bidh cothrom aig pàrantan sùil a thoirt air Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig aig gach ìre bho chròileagan gu bun-sgoil. Tha CnaG cuideachd a’ stèidheachadh seirbheis fiosrachaidh le oifigearan a’ sgaoileadh bhileagan agus pàrantan aig a bheil eòlas pragtaigeach air foghlam Gàidhlig mar tosgairean ionadail.

Tha Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig fosgailte don a h-uile duine, feadhainn aig a bheil Gàidhlig agus feadhainn aig nach eil agus tha taic ri fhaighinn aig gach ceum do phàrantan ùra.

Bho thòisich e ann an Ullapul, tha Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig air a dhol bho neart gu neart agus. Tha an Roinn Ghàidhlig stèidhichte aig Bun-sgoil Ullapul an dràsta le àireamhan-chloinne a’ sìor fhàs, buidheann phàrant ’s pàiste agus cuspairean air an teagasg tron chànan san Àrd-sgoil.

Faodaidh duine sam bith aig a bheil ùidh ann am Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig a dhol gu làrach-lìn Chomann nam Pàrant www.parant.org.uk agus tha tuilleadh fiosrachaidh ri fhaighinn mun tadhal-sgoile bho ChnaG air 01463-234138.

Gaelic Medium Education: An Opportunity in Ullapool

21th January 2008

Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG), the national Gaelic development agency, is implementing a campaign in Ullapool which aims to increase the numbers of children in Gaelic Medium Education. The aim of the campaign which takes place next week is to provide parents with information about Gaelic education in Ullapool and provide support and advice on the opportunities available.

Next week, parents will have the opportunity to visit the local Gaelic Department in Ullapool Primary School as well as the parent and toddler group and nursery. CnaG is also providing a friendly local information service with officers distributing information leaflets and local parents acting as a friendly, informal and independent source of advice on Gaelic Medium Education.

Gaelic Medium Education is one of the main ways of achieving or maintaining fluency in Gaelic. This is especially true of children from a non-Gaelic speaking background. Gaelic Medium Education is open to everyone, those who speak Gaelic and those who do not and support is available to parents at every step. Many children in Gaelic Medium education throughout Scotland come from a non-Gaelic speaking background.

Since its beginnings in Ullapool, Gaelic Medium Education has gone from strength to strength. There is also a Gaelic parent & toddler group and nursery, meaning children can access Gaelic from pre-school age and continue their learning to secondary school level in Ullapool.

Anyone with an interest in Gaelic Medium Education can access further information at www.parant.org.uk with further information on school visits from Shona at CnaG on 01463 234138.
