A Lochaber Community Group has set up a new website to encourage applications for a Gaelic teacher’s post in Fort William.

Iomairt Ghàidhlig Loch Abair has set up the website www.tidsear-lochabair.org as an information portal for those considering Gaelic jobs in the area, particularly teaching. The site hosts information on all aspects of life in Lochaber and is intended to encourage applicants for teaching positions in the area.

The current post advertised by The Highland Council is the vacancy at Lochaber High School which comes with a salary ranging from £21438 to £34200. The school is in Fort William.

The Iomairt is hoping to support Highland Council in attracting candidates for the position and is able to assist with sourcing accommodation.

Lochaber has a great tradition supporting Gaelic and the various groups in the area have come together to support Highland Council in attracting a new Gaelic teacher to the area. The successful candidate will be well supported by an active group of parents and organisations.

This website provides general information on the Lochaber area, about vacancies and as a place to work. It cannot provide specific information on jobs or pay and conditions regarding The Highland Council and is independent of the Authority.
