Cùrsaichean Fèin Leasachaidh aig Outward Bound

Tha Comunn na Gàidhlig air iomairt ionmholta a stèidheachadh ann an co-bhonn le Outward Bound Loch Iall faisg air a’ Ghearasdan. Tha an iomairt seo ag amas air cùrsaichean fèin-leasachaidh a thairgse do sgoiltean, colaistean, oilthighean ’s buidhnean eile tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig.

Bidh luchd com-pàirtiche ag obair air diofar sgilean leithid conaltradh, co-obrachadh, ceannas, dèanamh cho-dhùnaidhean ’s dùbhlan pearsanta. ’S ann tro chleachdadh iomadach gnìomharan ’s tachartasan a bhios ionnsachadh a’ tachairt agus thèid gach tachartas ’s gnìomh a sgrùdadh as dèidh làimh leis a’ bhuidheann fhèin. Gu dearbh, tha na sgilean seo freagarrach ’s feumail taobh a-muigh na sgoile no colaiste ann an suidhichean-obrach ’s tha fhios gum bi luchd-fastaidh a’ coimhead air cùrsaichean lethid seo mar teisteanas pearsanta.

A bharrachd air misneachd ann an Gàidhlig, tha na cùrsaichean seo a’ toirt cothrom do sgoilearan beagan ionnsachaidh mun deidhinn fhèin ann an diofar shuidhichean agus cuideachd pàirt a ghabhail ann an cur-seachadan leithid sreap, campaich, Leum a’ pharaisiut, Loidhne-Oidhche, Seòladh-Ràtha. Tha e cudthromach cuideachd gum bi daoine a’ dèanamh a’ cheangail eadar spòrs ’s a’ Ghàidhlig nan ceann.

Tha na cùrsaichean air a bhith feumail ann an iomadach dòigh ach gu sònraichte dhan Ghàidhlig aca: comas-labhairt ’s misneachd sa chànan.

"Rinn sinn tòrr rudan a-muigh ann am buidheann agus chòrd e rium gu mòr"

"Chòrd a h-uile pàirt rium ach ’s dòcha gur e coiseachd-gorge, balach-sheòrais ’s na canoes na rudan ’s fheàrr leam fhèin. Bha iad uile dùbhlanach agus dìreach sgoinneil"

"Rinn mi adhartas oir a bha mi a’ bruidhinn ann an Gàidhlig fad na latha"

Tha Comhairle Lannraig a Tuath, Comhairle Pheairt ’s Ceann Rois, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig agus Fèisean nan Gàidheal am measg na buidhnean a ghabh pàirt san iomairt dhan ìre seo. Tha an iomairt a’ sìor fhàs agus thathar an dùil gun gabh barrachd Comhairlean ’s Colaistean pàirt san àm ri teachd.

Personal Development Courses at Outward Bound

Comunn na Gàidhlig established a new and exciting initiative in partnership with Outward Bound Loch Eil near Fort William. This initiative aims to provide and support personal development courses through the medium of Gaelic to schools, colleges, universities and other groups.

Team buildingThe courses involve participants working on different skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, making decisions and personal challenge. Learning takes place through the many different tasks and activities and each is examined and reviewed afterwards with the group. Indeed, skills such as these are both useful and applicable out with school and college in working environments and it is known that employers view such courses as a personal reference.

In addition to confidence in Gaelic, these courses provide opportunities for participants to learn about themselves in different situations and also the opportunity to take part in activities such as climbing, camping, Parachute Jump, Nightline, Rafting. It is important that participants make an association with positive experiences and Gaelic.

Dealbh FL2The courses have proved useful in my ways but particularly so to the participants confidence and ability in spoken Gaelic.

"We took part in many things outside as a team and I enjoyed the course very much"

"I enjoyed every part of the course but gorge-walking, Boy George and the canoeing were my favourite things. They were all challenging but also very enjoyable"

"I made progress as I was speaking Gaelic all day"

North Lanarkshire Council, Perth & Kinross Council, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and Fèisean nan Gàidheal are some of the groups who have taken part in the initiative to date. The initiative is constantly expanding and it is intended that more local authorities, schools and colleges will take part in the future.
