Island Games Input

A representative from Comunn na Gàidhlig, the Active Schools Team at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and MG Alba went to vist some of the primary schools on the west side of Lewis last week to speak to the pupils about the Island Games and to encourage them to participate in sports through the medium of Gaelic. Marina Murray and Jenny Stewart who attended the Island Games in Åland were demonstrating and explaining the opportunities available with sports and Gaelic. MG Alba is supporting the islands team and Murdo Morrison went with the representatives to tell the children about the work that MG Alba and BBC Alba about the connection with the team and sports on BBC Alba. As part of the trip Murdo had the chance to show the Scottish Challenge Cup to the children. The picture shows children from Sgoil Lionel with the Scottish Challenge Cup.
